Un jour, une Rose m'a écrit. Elle m'a dit entre autres "tu n'es pas sans connaitre
ma passion pour le rugby, le chiffre 10 et J.Wilkinson...est ce que tu
pourrais exprimer ta créativité avec ces éléments?"
One day, a woman named Rose sent me an email: " You know my passion for rugby, the number 10 and Jonny Wilkinson... Could you create something with those elements?"
J'ai dit oui car j'aime bien les sports collectifs et le rugby, le stade toulousain, tout ça, tout ça.
I said yes because I love to watch team sports and rugby more specifically, I love the Stade Toulousain, my local team, etc, etc
Je me suis donc documenté sur Jonny Wilkinson et son coup de pied magique, sur son club actuel, le club de Toulon, sur le rugby en général...
I documented myself about Jonny Wilkinson and his magical foot, about his club, about the Toulon Racing Club and about Rugby in general...
Et j'ai laissé macéré mes observations un petit peu car il faut bien le dire: faire quelque chose sur le rugby est quand même assez loin de ce que je fais habituellement...
And then I waited because I have to say that to create something with Rugby as a theme is quite far from what I usually do...
J'ai fait une ébauche... qui ne me convenait qu'à moitié...

et en faisant le mix des 2, j'en suis arrivé à faire
I did a first drawing... but I wasn't totally satisfied with it
I did a second one and still wasn't satisfied...
I did a mix of them and I came up embroidering

poteaux que l'on pourrait prendre pour des piques à cheveux et qui s'entrecroisent dans un coeur avec la célèbre formule "Pilou-Pilou" du Racing Club Toulon écrite à l'intérieur.

Devant les exploits de son chouchou, le coeur de la supportrice s'électrise et s'envole porté par des muguets, fleur emblème du club.
Seeing her beloved player, the fan's heart gets thrilled and danse around, carried by lilies of the valley, the flowers symbol of the club.
Des ballons rouge et noir, "parce que Toulon Rouge, parce que Toulon noir" et des brins de muguets viennent équilibrer l'harmonie visuelle du tableau.
Some red and black rugby balls, because Toulon Red, because Toulon noir and some lilies of the valley come to balance the harmony of the scene.
Le dos du coussins est tricoté en mélange de mohair et de laine vert tout doux pour rappeler la pelouse d'un stade, mais aussi pour donner du réconfort à la Rose qui m'a fait confiance et que je remercie infiniement pour cette commande qui m'a beaucoup fait progresser dans ma manière de travailler.
The back of the cushion is knitted with a very soft green yarn; green to remember the grass of the stadium and soft to bring sweetness to Rose who put her trust in me and I thank her from the bottom of my heart: thanks to this project, my Little B-way of working improved a lot and I challenged myself a little further.
